Today we’re going to look at the top of my dresser. It sounds a bit bland, but I promise that it isn’t!
The top of my dresser has a couple of my favorite things on it. First is my Magical Moment from the time I spent in Disney World. This night meant so much to me; it was my last night in Florida after spending 6 months there.
I remember going and doing my favorite things in the parks with EPCOT as my last stop. EPCOT was my home park, so I saw all of my fellow CMs that I would be leaving. I almost didn’t get in on time, they had closed the doors to Character Spot for the night and I had to plead with my manager to get in. In Character Spot, you could meet Mickey, Pluto, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. As soon as I hugged Donald, I was in tears. I was saying goodbye to some of my best friends and favorite characters for the last time for who knows how long. I remember looking at Goofy, my second favorite in the room, sobbing. He cheered me up, but then the PhotoPass photographer asked Goofy if he could bang on the wall behind him and I lost it. The other characters from the room came out and we took a couple pictures, including this one. I had bought the frame earlier that day, and needed something to fill it. This picture was the best, and as sad as this night was, it was one of the best I’ve ever had.
The next thing I want to talk about is a piece of art I bought at New York Comic Con this past year. Its by this really neat artist by the name of James Silvani.
He does fantastic mashups, usually of Disney characters with other nerdy characters. I find him extremely interesting, so I’ll be talking about him more in a little bit over a week. I just really like this piece because I love all of the characters portrayed. Pixar plus Star Wars? Yes.
I also have The Elder Wand up there, and that stays in it’s box, in exception of very dire situations.
And Snow White. Everywhere needs a little Snow White.
Of course, Darth Vader is watching over everyone too.
Well Fangirls, that concludes our tour of the top of my dresser.
