Destiny Beta

Destiny-Beta-ProblemsSo the Destiny Beta was released a few days ago and I have been playing the heck out of it! Even with the low level cap, the limited missions, and only 2 maps being available for online competitive play, the game already looks great.

There are 3 available classes to choose from; Titan, which is your assault class, Hunter, which is your precision sniper class, and Warlock, who is a bit of a mix of assault and magic; it seems like a balanced class. In addition to that, you can choose sex, race, and things like facial features and colors. It’s what you would expect from any type of RPG.

I chose an Awoken Warlock because I’m a sucker for magic and the Awoken looked like a cool race. There are no perks for race choices as of yet, but perhaps in the full release there might be. For now, it’s just a cosmetic choice.

Destiny_Beta_13806494758961The Beta features about a half dozen missions to kick off the game and introduce you to the world a bit. The good thing about this game is that when you come to mission that is far too difficult to take on alone, you can either enlist friends or, you will be matched up with others looking to do the mission.

I am not usually a big fan of shooters, but this one offers a unique twist that keeps me interested. I am really excited to travel off of Earth and visit more places in the universe. It’s also fairly exciting to see all of the abilities that will be able to be unlocked to make for more intense battles.

Not to mention Destiny is just a very pretty game.

All in all, I am pleased with what I have seen so far, but I am even more pleased to see that there are definitely elements of the game that have yet to be revealed.
