Why I Can’t Watch The Battle of Five Armies

the_hobbit_the_battle_of_the_five_armies_2014-wideWell, the simple answer is because even though I have physically watched An unexpected Journey, I have no idea what happened.

You might be asking “How? It’s not that hard to follow!” Well, this is because when you watch a Middle-Earth movie with someone who loves them or even just kind of likes them, they talk…..the whole time. These movies are almost always 3 hours or longer so, its understandable that when you’ve seen ot before, you might take some liberties in scenes you deem unimportant but, for first time watchers these are important!!

The-Hobbit-An-Unexpected-Journey-2012It took me until literally last summer to finally sit down and watch The Lord of the Rings movies because that was the first time I could properly pay attention to everything like those movies deserve. There are so many names and locations to remember and hear, and keep straight in your head that if you miss one you are a little screwed.

This is me preaching to all you Tolkien fans out there that when you are watching these movies with someone, trying to bring them into your world and loves….shut the fuck up! I understand that you want people to love them as you do, and know the thoughts you have that made the movie more enjoyable but, just let them love it in their way and it will be more special anyway!

the-hobbit-the-desolation-of-smaug-CDSo, before The Battle of Five Armies leaves theaters, I need to get my hands on copies of An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug since that one attempt at watching An Unexpected Journey the first time made it impossible to watch The Desolation of Smaug and now The Battle of Five Armies; it snowballed fast!
