Fangirls, I think this game is for children. I frankly don’t give a damn, because I love it.
Honestly, it’s really just another matching game. Like Candy Crush and Frozen Free Fall, the goal is to match three or more of a like shape with just one move. Each level has a point amount that you need to reach before you can move on to the next level. I like the simplicity of it, but I also like that there is a bit more to it than that.
With Gummy Drop, there are some learning opportunities; the goal is to “travel” around countries and the world by beating each level. You start in Australia, and that is as far as I’ve gotten. Throughout each country, there are landmarks that you have to build, and you can read a little blurb on each place you build.
Each level has three levels, where you get more coins and resources for the higher level you beat. The resources are necessary because you need them to build the landmarks, and when you get to a landmark, you can’t get the next level until the landmark is built. I find it sometimes frustrating, because there are levels that I have a hard time with because of the time limit or the high level expectations. I feel silly getting frustrated with a matching game, but it happens.
You only have 3 lives, that each take 20 minutes to refresh, so when you run out, it’s a bit of a wait until you can play more. There are opportunities to make in app purchases, of course; you can buy more resources, coins, and lives, but I work hard not to spend money in apps because it’s a bit foolish to me.
The application itself is free, so it’s very worth checking out. It’s definitely fun, I just keep tearing myself down because I can’t get past some levels. But it’s really fun, and you should download it if you have time to kill!
