SQUIRREL! Soap Sample from Fortune Cookie Soap

Slowly but surely, I’ve been working my way through Fortune Cookie Soap’s set of Sample Soaps. One that I had been really excited to try is one called SQUIRREL! It made me think of Dug from Up and Doreen Green (aka Squirrel Girl) and if that’s not a winning combination, I don’t know what is.

The first thing I noticed about this sample was the size. It was a bit smaller than the others I received, and that bummed me out. It lasted 5 showers, and 1 hand wash (which was better than I expected, because of the size).

When I took it out of the baggie, I noticed that it wasn’t super strongly scented; in fact I couldn’t figure it out until I was in the shower. It smells a bit like men’s shaving cream. It’s kind of musky and fresh smelling, in a really good way. After rinsing and drying off, the scent was gone, so it didn’t interfere with any lotion or perfume I used.

SQUIRREL! left my skin bright and soft, which is always so nice. Since it smelled so much like shaving cream, I used it as such. The lather was enough to keep my razor gliding over my legs.

I really liked this scent, Fangirls, but I don’t think it’s one that I’d buy for myself. It’s definitely a great gift soap though. Since I thought of Doreen Green so much while using it, it really motivated me to get stuff done while I was using it. There’s nothing like thinking about a college girl who is also a superhero who has to fight Galactus to make you feel like you can do anything. Well, I didn’t set up a fight with Galactus, but I also don’t have superpowers.

Anyway, SQUIRREL! is a fun soap and scent, and seems to almost always be sold out!  There’s a foaming hand soap, a lip scrub, and a soap box that includes it, but no place you can really get it as a single bar soap.  It’s definitely worth checking to see if it’s in stock!
