Nerds Gotta Drink: Magical Girl

Fangirls, I’ve been losing my mind over the impending release of Zodiac Starforce, even including my drinking habits. The other night I realized that something I’ve never attempted is a Magical Girl Drink. So, I attempted, but I can’t really say that I succeeded.

I bought this booze called Viniq solely on the basis that it’s pretty. It’s sparkly and shimmery, just like magical girls. I opened it, though, and it smelled awful. It’s a mixture of a moscato, vodka, and fruit, but neither the display nor the clerk at the liquor store could explain a flavor to me. And truly, I can’t either.

I thought it may be tasty with Sierra Mist, because just about everything mixes well with it. The Sierra Mist definitely improved the taste of the Viniq; dialed it back and added some bubbles, but it didn’t make it awesome in any way. I used 2 parts Viniq and 3 parts Sierra Mist, and I couldn’t finish the drink.

As Ashley said, “It’s not bad, but it’s definitely not good.” I agree. It was tough to throw back, and I couldn’t finish my tiny glass. It wasn’t as bad in bursts, so maybe shots would be a better form for it. If you can stomach it, and can think of a better way to mix it, please let me know. I still have a half bottle of this cute, shimmery, booze, and am up for trying again.
