Alright Fangirls, a couple weeks ago I said that I was going to try a silly fad diet to save money on food while on vacation this week. I decided I would only drink Bolthouse smoothies and eat protein bars (one smoothie and one serving of protein bar daily, along with one regular meal) for a couple days, and see if it made any difference in my weight.
To be honest, I don’t think it made a difference. Sure, I only participated Monday through Thursday (Monday I didn’t have a Bolthouse smoothie, just one regular meal), so the brevity of my “diet” may have had something to do with the lack of results, but I did actually feel pretty good.
The rad thing about the Bolthouse smoothies, is that they’re packed full of fruits and veggies. Each drink has a full day’s servings of fruits and vegetables. One big change that happens when you eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, is gas. I was so full of gas that I felt like I was going to explode at some points.
But like I said, I actually felt pretty good. I wasn’t hungry as I expected to be; whenever I got a little hungry, I’d just take a couple gulps of my smoothie, and be good to go! I went with Cliff Crunch bars (chocolate chip flavored!) for my protein bars, and each package in the box has two bars, which is a serving. When I found that I missed chewing, I would eat half of one of my bars, and it quelled that urge.
Although I didn’t notice a difference in my body, I felt good and quite a bit healthier than I usually would, eating just junk food. I think Bolthouse smoothies are fantastic, and well worth the gas!
