Covergirl’s Star Wars Lipstick Collection

Fangirls, I’m sure you’re as excited as I am for The Force Awakens; it looks like it’s going to be beyond amazing. I am extremely ready for it. And you know what gets me even more excited for it? A make-up crossover! Covergirl released a full line of Star Wars: The Force Awakens cosmetics, and as rad as all of it looks, I only went for the lipstick, because that’s what floats my boat the most (since I already have go-tos for eyeliner and mascara). So on a trip to Walmart with one of my friends, I saw and grabbed all six!

AT-AT

I’m not going to lie, the thing I was most disappointed with was the names for these. They’re so generic; I feel like there was such an opportunity to make wonderful names (Violet Betrayal, Fett’s Red; c’mon Covergirl, you’ve got to up your game)! The names are literally just Silver 10, Lilac 20, Red 30, Gold 40, Dark Purple 50, and Nude 70. It’s kind of weak. So I’m going to refer to them solely by their number, because I think that’s better than the simple name.

1 is Silver 10, 2 is Lilac 20, 3 is Red 30, 4 is gold 40, 5 is Dark Purple 50, and 6 is Nude 70

ARTOO

10 is phenomenal (and honestly I’m most disappointed with this image). I think the sheen is lovely, and simple, and it lets your natural lip color show through. It’s a great color for Christmas and Slytherins; it’s simple and cute, with just enough sparkle to make you feel spacey.

Hello, I am ready for a Star War.

20 is also really nice. This is the first one I put on, and I was surprised that I liked it as much as I did. I’m not one who usually goes for lipstick that isn’t matte, and this slid onto my lips so easily, and it felt super natural, and clean.

We all know Fett's Red would be a much better name for this, right?

30 is wonderful. I always gravitate towards reds because I am incredibly pale, and feel that they go so dang well with my complexion. This is no exception. I think this shade is my favorite; when I saw it I immediately thought of Boba.

Gold

40 is another one that surprised me with how much I enjoy it. I wear it a lot, because it’s not too strong, but it still makes me feel a bit like threepio. I feel like even though it’s a bold color, it’s still playful.

As long as you're not killing Younglings for the hell of it, being Sith isn't that bad!

50 is soooo nice, Fangirls. It’s a gorgeous, shimmery dark purple that reminds me that being Sith just means you accept your emotions; passion is what this color is all about. I’m in love with it.

Ewok

70 is another simple one. It went perfectly with my Ewok cowl (knit by my lovely mother), and with everything else. I think the Ewoks would be really into this shade too, because it’s so simple, and would work with any fur type.

It may not be Hoth like just yet, but the Silver 10 will make you feel icy as a Wampa.

Altogether, this collection is beautiful, and very different from what I usually go to for lipstick. I’m glad it made me branch out so much. I adored how hydrating all of the shades were; I took all of the pictures in one day, and I didn’t feel like my lips were dead by the end of it, which was fantastic. I highly recommend any and all of these shades from Covergirl’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens collection. You can order them on Covergirl’s site, or at many places where Covergirl is sold.

I have recently learned that Covergirl tests on animals, which is 100% not rad   As much as I enjoyed this collection, I find it important that you are aware before you purchase from them. I’m very torn, because I do enjoy this collection, but the thought of animal testing breaks my heart, which is a big reason I support companies like Lush. So, though I do not plan on halting my use of these products, please be aware when you go to purchase, check to see whether or not they test on animals.
