Nerd’s Gotta Drink: Penzeys Spices Mint Hot Cocoa

I think, by now, we all know that Mint Hot Chocolate is the only way to go, with me. I love mint and chocolate (York Peppermint Patties, New Year’s Cocoa, Minty Zaki’s Mudslide, everything). It’s the best way to do chocolate; put mint in it! So when I was in a mall with a spice shop (that I knew my mother would love), I dragged her in and left with some absolutely enchanting Mint Hot Chocolate mix.

Now, at my house we like to do things ourselves. We make our own laundry detergent, clothing, and yes, hot chocolate mix. But I couldn’t help myself! I love trying new things, and I love mint and chocolate together! The small container that I bought was $3.95, and enough for maybe 10 cups of cocoa, if I used normal size mugs. But I wanted to know how it was, so I got it.

Holy hot chocolate, Fangirls! Penzeys Mint Hot Chocolate is not only incredibly rich, but also just so good. I couldn’t get over how tasty it was, after just one sip! Though I usually use water for hot chocolate (it doesn’t expire and we always have it, where milk is less common in our house, and does expire), the bottle suggested using milk, so I did. And now I don’t want to know what it’s like with water; I feel like water isn’t worthy.

My mug is so big that I actually ended up using two tablespoons, but for most mugs, use just one.

To make Penzeys Mint Hot Cocoa, you heat up a cup of milk, add one (heaping) tablespoon of Hot Cocoa mix, stir, and enjoy! The mix makes it super easy, and I still can’t get over how tasty it is! If you don’t have a Penzeys Spices nearby, fear not! Their website has multiple sizes of the hot chocolate mix, along with their massive selection of other spices, that can be delivered straight to your door!

It’s wonderful, Fangirls, and I love ending the winter with it. I’ll be saving the mix for treats (homemade hot chocolate will have to do for the in between), because it isn’t something I want to waste. But I suggest more than anything that you try it out.
