Nerds Gotta Eat: Apple Cheese Melt

If you’re like Snow White, and love apples, this is the easiest, healthy breakfast out there. All you need is a couple slices of apple, some jam, an english muffin, and cheddar cheese, and you’re set.


I feel like this is the laziest healthy start to the day, and a big part of me says, this isn’t worth writing about. But the other part of me keeps saying, no, you really liked that and it’s healthy. So this will be brief, and the recipe is beyond simple, but super worth it.


Halve / open your english muffin, then spread a bit of jam on each side. Stack 2 small slices of apple on each side, and half a piece of sharp cheddar on top. Pop that bad boy under the broiler for a couple minutes and you’re done. Really, that’s it.

If you go with some relatively healthy options, this is a breakfast under 300 calories. Breakfast is usually supposed to be about 300, so you can have it with yogurt and be set. It doesn’t really have a protein, but the bread and apple still filled me up pretty dang well. Next time I make it, I’ll just have to make sure my english muffin gets as toasted as I’d like.

Like I said, it’s super simple, which is perfect for any Fangirls on the go. Don’t forget that breakfast is the most important meal of the day for a reason. Take care of yourselves, and don’t forget breakfast!
