Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling

I love Mindy Kaling. I’ve been making my way through The Office, and Kelly Kapoor is hilarious and dramatic. I loved reading Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? and I knew I would love Why Not Me?

This book is another in my long list of Books By Celebrity Women That Are Hilarious and Remind Me That They Deal With Lame Things Too. It follows Hanging Out perfectly; we thought we had a glimpse of Kaling’s life before, but now that The Office is over, look at these other cool things that she’s doing (specifically, The Mindy Project).

Books like this are incredibly popular because they do something that, quite frankly, they shouldn’t have to do; they humanize celebrities. I feel like Kaling does the humanization without screaming about how tough it is to be glamorous. Instead, she shows us that glamour isn’t everything, being a regular lady is pretty dang important too.

Mindy Kaling slays the game with this book. I really enjoyed reading it, and am looking forward to more from her. She’s funny, relatable, and writes well. I love it.
