Now Listening: Binge Mode Harry Potter

Friends and Fangirls, I wanted to take a moment to talk about a podcast I’ve been listening to while working. It’s called Binge Mode, and this summer they’re binging the Harry Potter series. If that doesn’t immediately pique your interest, hit that read more tab, and we’ll get a bit deeper into it.

Binge Mode goes through the Harry Potter books, five chapters at a time, and does over an hour conversation on it. They talk about events throughout the Harry Potter universe, not just the chapters read. They’ve just finished the third book, now, and I’m thinking of reading along with them. It’s a great way to revisit JKR’s incredible universe, and a new way to experience it.

I’m beyond in love with this. I get chills when listening to it, because it’s such a unique thought. The hosts discus how things relate to future books (i.e.: in Olivanders, Olivander hands Harry a wand that is similar to his father’s, saying that it was particularly good at transfiguration. Remember, James transfigured himself into a stag on the regular). They discuss little things that surprised me, even though I’ve reread the books numerous times. And if that still doesn’t get your ear, then I’d like you to know that they use the term “homie Nickolas Flamel” more than once.

If you’re a fan of Potter and podcasts, you need to be checking this one out. You can learn a bit more about it here!
