This month I received my first ever Owl Crate. I unboxed it and fell in love, and I’m excited to see what the next two months of my subscription will be. It’s going to be full of spoilers, so if you haven’t gotten your box yet, don’t click that read more tab!
This month’s theme was Strange and Peculiar. I myself am strange and peculiar, so I knew I had to grab it. One of the first things that came out of my box was a pennant that said “Stay Peculiar.” This beauty is made by Risa Rodil, and is an Owl Crate exclusive! I’m not quite sure where to hang it, but I love that it’s Miss Peregrine themed!
Next was a tiny Funko Pop keychain of my favorite boy, Dustin! I had heard that there would be some Stranger Things items in here, and I’m glad that I got Dustin.
After that, I pulled out a little Ouija Board…that was full of mints! The mints are even planchette shaped, which is so cute and spooky. Since I’m not much of a mint person (I would eat the whole package in one go), I’m going to give it to my favorite tattoo artist when I next see her!
Another neat item in the box was this Raven Boys themed wallet. I haven’t read Raven Boys, but I love the wallet and the design (by Reverie and Ink)! I really like having multiple wallets, so I’ll be using this at some point (and probably reading Raven Boys).
We also got this gorgeous whale print by Aun Juli! It’s lovely and odd, and while it isn’t technically themed, it reminds me a lot of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. All it needs is a bowl of petunias!
This rad sticker by TJ Lubrano was also in the box! I love Luna Lovegood; I think she’s a great character and I can’t get over how phenomenal Evanna Lynch was in the role. I’m glad that we got this strange sticker starring her.
The last non-book item we received was this test tube full of 8-bit skull push pins! These (again) aren’t necessarily themed, but they remind me a lot of Sombra from Overwatch! I need to get a pin board for my room, and I’m excited to have such cool pins to adorn it.
This month’s book was My Plain Jane. It’s based on Jane Eyre, which I haven’t read. I’m a big fan of retellings, though, so I’m excited to read it! This book came signed, with a letter from all three authors, and a paper recreation of Thornfield Hall that you can color in! I’m going to read this next month, and I can’t wait!
