Steven Universe: Warp Tour

I don’t think I will ever be able to absorb enough Steven Universe. I’ve watched the show religiously, picked up books, the album, and of course, comics. This is a collection of five comics that are kind of all over the place, but that means you can read them in any order without continuity problems.

This collection features stories of Renn Faires, dates, and food trucks (plus more). I’ve read a couple different SU trades, but this one is my favorite so far. The Renn Faire story is one of my favorites.

It’s about the Shorty Squad (Steven, Amethyst, and Peridot) going to a Renaissance Faire. Peridot keeps getting mistaken for a weird looking child, and not being able to do things like play with real swords. When they go to the jousting match, she is really into it, and when they offer for kids to joust, she jumps at the chance. But the knight she goes against falls without her hitting him, and she feels that’s wrong, she wanted to hit him.

She handles it like Peridot would (of course), and it ends phenomenally. I think the panel above shows just how great these writers and artists are, and how true to character they make everyone.

I’m really glad I picked this collection up, and I think you should too. If you don’t know much about Steven Universe, this may not be the best place to start because of some stuff that’s easier to understand if you watch from the beginning. But I think this is another fantastic comic that adds to the Steven Universe.
