Friends and Fangirls, I’m only 3 volumes in, but I am in Love with Cucumber Quest! This phenomenal series is great for all ages, and is beyond adorable. Let’s get into it!
One night, young Cucumber receives a letter from his father that it’s time to man-the-heck-up, and save the world. All Cuco wants to do, though, is to go to school and get better at magic. But that’s not in the cards right now.
While on his way, his younger sister barrels into him, claiming to be the true hero. She’s ready to fight all the dudes and get the world safe again, and Cucumber can just chill. Together, along with some new friends they pick up, they must save the world from the evil Nightmare Knight.
There are seven kingdoms the team must visit and save. In each, they need a signature from the princess and stones for defeating the Masters hiding there. Since I’ve only read the first three books, I haven’t seen them complete their quest. Will they? I won’t know until I finish the series.
I really had a blast tearing through these. They were fun and bright, full of fantastic adventure, and even a little bit of romance. I believe this is a good middle grade series; readers as young as 5th grade would be comfortable reading this.
