Hello again, readers! I was pretty dang busy reading this month, and made sure that I got plenty of reading done! Let’s jump right into what I read this past month!
Artemis Fowl and the Opal Deception by Eoin Coffer
Just like the other Artemis Fowl books I’ve reread, this is an audiobook! This is read by the same folks who handled the others, and it’s just as well done as the others. I loved getting back into the series.
Ronan Boyle and the Bridge of Riddles by Thomas Lenon
I’m not sure if this is because of all the Artemis Fowl I’ve been reading, but this felt of the same grain! Ronan Boyle is written by Thomas Lenon, a well known actor and comedian, and it blew me away! I had a lot of fun reading it, definitely look forward to the review coming soon!
The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang
I know this graphic novel has been all over the place laely, and I’m kind of behind having just read this now, but I loved it! It was beautiful and powerful, and I can not handle how much I loved it. I need you to read it.
Be More Chill by Ned Vizzini
I hated this book. It’s been awhile since I truly abhorred a book, but this really brought back some anger for me. I think it was poorly written, and it made me dislike reading it. I wanted to get through it because it was so short, but it was a dang struggle.
Pretty in Punxsutawney by Laurie Boyle Crompton
This book was a lot of fun; it employed the reliving the same day trope incredibly well. I wasn’t super into all of the characters, but that didn’t ruin the book for me. It was fun and fluffy, and exactly what I needed.
Manfried Saves the Day by Kelly Bastow and Caitlin Major
Wow yes yes YES this book! I am so dang happy that I got to read this one a bit early, and I absolutely adored it. I truly hope that you read both this and the original book (Manfried the Man). You can check out their reviews here and here!
Much Ado About Mean Girls by Ian Doescher
Okay, this is so cool. This book is a revamp of Mean Girls, but in William Shakespeare’s style. My full review is here, and you should go grab this book!
PTSD by Guillame Singelin
Wow, this graphic novel blew me away. I was beyond in love with everything about it, and I can’t recommend it enough.
Fence Volume 1 by CS Pacat, Johanna the Mad, & Joana Lafuente
I know I’m behind as heck on this, but I loved this comic! I thought the characters were all really cool, fun, and grabbed me by the shoulders. I’m picking up the second volume soon!
Motor Crush Volumes 1 & 2 by Brenden Fletcher, Cameron Stewart, & Babs Tarr
This is another series I have been pushing off for far too long, but I loved everything about this. Much like Fence, I was immediately in love with ALL of the characters.
The Wild Robot by Peter Brown
This is a middle grade novel that I read in a day. I knew I would like it, but I didn’t know how intensely I would love it. I can’t recommend this enough.
Speak the Graphic Novel by Laurie Halse Anderson and Emily Carroll
This graphic novel blew me right the heck away. It was incredible and beautiful and I can’t get over it.
The Past and Other Things that Should Stay Buried by Shaun David Hutchinson
This is a great “friendship do-over” story. I was more surprised than usual reading it, and I loved it too much.
As for March, I’ve got some books I’ve already started, and some books that I feel like I should have read already (I brought 9 books on vacation, and only read two and a half). So I’ll be remedying that this coming month.
The Beginnner’s Guide to Winning an Election by Michael French
I am currently over halfway through this book and despising every minute of it. But I want to finish it, dang it, so I’m going to.
Rayne and Delilah’s Midnight Matinee by Jeff Zetner
This book, on the other hand, I’m halfway through and in love with it. It’s about two girls who put on a horror movie show (much like Joebob or Elvira) where they wear costumes, critique movies, and have a silly time. I’m excited to see where this one ends up.
Somewhere Only We Know by Margaret Goo
This is a bit of a romance YA book that I won off of Goodreads. I’m intrigued by it, because there are some kpop elements, which I’m not completely familiar with. But I’m excited nonetheless!
The Night Before by Wendy Walker
I have been meaning to read this book, but it has been pushed back too much! No more, I’m coming for it this month!
The Favorite Daughter by Kaira Rouda
This is another that has been firmly set on my TBR shelf without enough love. I’m ready to dig in to this adult fiction this month.
The Crowns of Croswald by DE Night
This is a YA book that I am super looking forward to! It looks like the right mix of fantasy and fun that I’m very much here for, and ready to go on.
While that is already six books, both Kingsbane by Claire Legrand and Finale by Stephanie Garner come out this month. Finale is the final book in the Caraval Trilogy, and Kingsbane is the second book in the Empirium Trilogy. I hope to read both this month, and they will probably take precedence over some of the other books here.
I hope you all had a productive month, and are looking forward to another one coming up!
