Hot Dog Girl by Jennifer Dugan

Wow, surprise, I bought another book for the hype! I definitely grabbed this on a whim, while overfilling a bag at Barnes & Noble, but I’m glad I did, because it was cute and fluffy and the perfect summer read!

Hot Dog Girl is about Elouise May Parker, aka Lou, who works at a local theme park. She finds out during orientation that this will be the theme park’s last year, as the owner is shutting it down. Since this park has been a huge part of her life (birthdays here every year, summer job as soon as she could work), she decides that she needs to save the park. But how can a girl in a hot dog costume do all of that?

This book also heavily features romance, which is what I signed up for when I picked it up. Elouise has a huge crush on one of the diving pirates, Nick, and comes up with an incredible scheme to get him to fall for her. But…it doesn’t make sense! She thinks that if she pretends to be dating her best friend Seeley, they can double date with Nick and his girlfriend Jessa, so Elouise can get closer to him. And when Seeley and Elouise break up, she can fall into his arms, and hopefully he’ll leave the perfect Jessa? Doesn’t sound like it should work, but I think you’ll have to read it to find out!

This was such a fun and fluffy book. There was a lot of predictability in it, but that made me read it faster to see if I was right (I was). I think this is the perfect summer read, and you can read it in a weekend! I can not recommend it highly enough!

You can grab yourself a copy of Hot Dog Girl by Jennifer Dugan at Barnes and Noble, or Target! Happy reading!
