One of Us is Lying by Karen M McManus

I’ve heard so much hype around this and Two Can Keep a Secret, that I finally had to get my life together enough to read it! I’m sorry that it took me so dang long, but I’m so glad that I finally read it.

One of Us is Lying starts with a group of kids in detention. While they’re in there, the teacher has to leave to check out a car accident, and one of the kids, Simon, dies. The others in detention are of course all suspects, and the police seem to have an idea who did it. But it’s up to Bronwyn, Nate, Cooper, and Addy to figure out who really did it.
This was a lot of fun to read, and thought I thought the twists were kind of predictable, I loved every minute I spent with it. I feel like it was a change of pace from a lot of what I’ve been reading lately. I didn’t think it was too heavy, but there is a lot of drama and some difficult topics discussed in it.
Overall, this was predictable but fun. I will definitely be picking up Two Can Keep a Secret, and I hope you do the same!
