“You think you own whatever bar you land in. The stool is just some dead thing you can claim! But I know every rum, and gin, and vodka gives you life, is a spirit, has a name.” Fangirls, this week we’re taking it back to the Disney renaissance, with Pocahontas. Pocahontas sings about punting with all of the colors of the wind, but here we’re going to drink the colors of the wind (mostly reds and blues, but it’s good stuff).
Fangirls, I’ve been diggin’ a little deeper, trying to come up with nerdy snacks and drinks, and this one truly is royalty. Not from the bayou, but tasty enough for the prince or princess in your life, this grasshopper is phenomenal.
From early on in the first book of the Potter series, it’s pretty darn clear that Albus Dumbledore is a bit mad. One of his favorite things (which he offers to McGonagall as they’re waiting for Hagrid), is the muggle candy, lemon drops. Lucky for us, there’s a lemon drop cocktail. I modified the recipe and it became a quick favorite in this Fangirl’s household.
Fangirls, I like the grumpy green giant. I think he’s a cute grump, and I want to hang out with him all the time. So, when a coworker told me that there was a good way to make a drink that turns green like the Hulk, I got crazy pumped.
Fangirls, the Clown Queen of Crime is back on the case of Sparrow, and remember who just entered? Deadshot. He’s there to collect some bounties, but Harley is not happy after he kills of her cowboy. And she isn’t afraid to let him know.
Fangirls, this isn’t the nerdiest of drinks, but as of last night, it’s one of my favorites. We found this recipe in one of the free magazines that our grocery store gives out, and I’ve been really excited to make it.
Fangirls, I love Harry Potter. I do enjoy Butterbeer, but I was ready for something new, and Ashley introduced me to the idea of drinking Fireball a lot more, and that made me want some Firewhiskey; the warmer and more alcoholic wizarding drink. I think Ashley has developed a muggle version, that can be as alcoholic as you can handle.
