I am so so behind on my comic reading. I took a night a while back to start to catch up, and I discovered something: A-Force has ended. Yes, the last three issues we’ll be discussing here are the final three issues for my favorite team. And they take place during the current Civil War run.
Oh my goodness, Fangirls. Not only am I ridiculously behind on Black Canary comics, but this one has so much happening in it that I needed to stop reading, multiple times. It starts with some great incorporated “previously on…” While the police are interrogating Byron, Paloma, and their road manager. It seems that Dinah has disappeared, the police thing Ditto and Mr Lance are dead, and that what happened at Gotham Stadium was more than what is being released to them (on that account, they’re right).
Fangirls, I first picked up giant days when it originally came out January 2015, read a couple issues, then didn’t pay it much attention. It’s a Boom! Box book, originally only going to be 6 issues long, but extended it after issue 3. It’s a wonderful comic, about three roomies in college, trying to function and figure things out.
Fangirls I have good news and bad news. Bad news is, our girl Kari who was working so hard on these wonderful recapathons has retired. She’s working hard at school and work, and needs more time to focus on that. But it’s great, because she is a hard worker, and can do anything she puts her mind to. But the good news, is that the Jem reviews aren’t going away! Starting right back up with issue 8, I’m ready to go.
Fangirls, I know I’m waaaaaay behind on Lumberjanes, but I love getting to re-experience them as I reread them for you. The series is celebrating passing a year full of comics and now has a trade out, which is fantastic. Lumberjanes was supposed to only be a 6 issue run, but has become so much more than that, and I’m really glad I’ve been able to experience it.
It’s been some time since we’ve checked in with the Bunker folks in crisis. This has been a fantastic and intense series and I was happy to jump back into it. I almost forgot how nerve wracking it is, all the questions that it pops into your head, and how worried you get about everything. These two issues sure brought that all rushing back. Read More »
Well, Fangirls, it has been a while since we’ve checked up on our teenage eye laser friend. When we last saw him, things weren’t going the best. He had been adopted into the crew of his rival ship, where his father is now being kept prisoner. He’s now being left to figure out how to not be a suspicious member of the crew, and how to rescue his father & himself. Of course, that’s not easy. Especially when you might not exactly want to.
