Oh my goodness. I ordered this what feels like ages ago, and have been super excited about it! I got it last week while at work, and I struggled to wait until I got home, but I’m glad I did, because I was so blown away by the contents. Before we get into it, lets get some background; Magic & Mayhem is a one time order from Illumicrate. Illumicrate is a subscription box company based out of the UK. Magic & Mayhem was said to be focused on Victoria Schwab’s works. It also coincided with the release of Vengeful, the sequel to her book Vicious. I literally started Vicious the day I received my box, but I was hopeful that there would also be some Darker Shades of Magic themed items in there as well. Spoiler alert: there were.
Do not click that read more tab unless you’re prepared to see exactly what was in the Magic & Mayhem box. There are spoilers ahead.
Fangirls! Remember that phenomenal, women-centric book that Sam Maggs has written that we talked about last week, Wonder Women?! Well it’s such a rad book that the brought the release date up two weeks! Wonder Women will now be released on October 4th, that’s one week from today! And if you weren’t excited enough for it, hold on to your hats.
The absolutely incredible Paulina Ganucheau (Zodiac Starforce & Another Castle) and Jen Bartel (Jem & Girl Gang) have been commissioned by the Quirk books crew to create some stunning wallpapers for giveaway with the book! Everyone that pre-orders Wonder Women will be entered to win a framed print, signed by the artist and Sam Maggs!

Oh goodness, it’s been some time since we’ve talked Catwoman, hasn’t it Fangirls? Almost two months because I was in too much of a vacation mode last month and totally blanked on doing my work. But here we are, again, and Catwoman is looking like she’s in deep trouble.
Fangirls, I had the amazing opportunity to send some questions to Annie Stoll and Kevin Jay Stanton of the fully funded 1001 Knights anthology. 1001 Knights is a project that seems beyond amazing, and is still available to back on kickstarter, which means you can get in on the action still! The next push goal is to get more foil color to the anthology covers, and they’re only about $5,000 away from that goal. You can learn more about and pledge to the kickstarter here.
Its that time of year again, Fangirls! Last year we had different ladies and gents from all over the internet write up a short wishlist of the rad and nerdy things they wanted for the holidays! And now, we’re bringing it back. Mine this year is going to feature both things that I already have (but recommend to every Fangirl), and things that I desperately want in my life. I know it’s early to start on this, but my birthday is in November (so it’s two fold for me), but we also want to give you time to order things online!
Fangirls, I felt kind of weird reading this comic; it has almost no words. I’m definitely all for visual storytelling, but it was something that could have benefited from text, so it definitely made me feel unfulfilled reading it.
