I know that Teen Titans GO! is a pretty divisive subject, but I’m someone who loves it. I have no beef with the cartoon from when I was younger, but this dumb, fun show is directly up my alley. So when they came to the big screen this summer, you can bet your butt I got tickets!
Fangirls, I’ve been putting this issue off. I’ve been worried about Harley going anywhere near the Joker, and I knew that would be a big part of this issue (he was in the last issue and he’s on the cover of this one). I didn’t even feel up to the challenge today, but I finally got off my bum and read it. And it was far more satisfying than I expected.
Fangirls, as I was perusing Target the other day, a book caught my eye. Now, I know that I said I’ve been having issues finishing books lately; due to time or interest, or whatever, but as soon as I saw this book, I knew it had to come home with me. I was so excited to see that the DC Super Hero Girls had come out with a book, that I lost my mind. When I got home that night, I started reading it, and got about halfway through, before realizing that it was 11pm and I had to get up for work in a couple hours.
Fangirls, we’re all pretty aware of my intense disdain for Superman, right? No? Well, let me tell you; I hate that stinker because he’s too good. I’m a Bat-fan; I prefer the angst that comes with justice far more than the “I must save everyone” nonsense that Superman has got going on. So when I saw that Fortune Cookie Soap has a Kryptonite soap, I jumped on that SO quickly. A soap guaranteed to keep that dude away? Take my money.
Goodness gracious I am behind on Batgirl. As I’m just now finishing up my vacation, I had the opportunity to go pick up some more comics this past week, but I’ve been a busy bee and still haven’t been able to catch all the way up, but I’m getting there! I love Batgirl, though, and I really enjoy taking my time with her comic, and really making sure I catch everything. It’s a really enjoyable read, and this issue is no different.
I’ve been on and off the fence about the direction that Catwoman has been taking as of late, but in this issue she’s almost solely in the mask, and that’s where I like her. But some lines get crossed, and it’s definitely not the easiest issue to read.
So I know I am more than a little late in reading this but, I was recently referred to Red Son by a friend of mine and boy am I glad I read it if only for the twist ending.Read More »
