“It’s Just a wee sheep stomach!” Nope, not anymore. Hey Fangirls, this week we’ve got something that I’ve been excited to try since I first saw Brave; a vegetarian dish inspired by Haggis. Haggis is typically a dish made in sheep stomach, but for gals like me, that’s even more unappealing than to your average human. Being vegetarian means finding protein in places other than meat, but I know very few people who don’t experiment with food to find new ways to get their main courses other than frozen fake meat burgers. So I found a recipe online for Vegetarian Haggis, and went for it!
Over the last few months, I’ve felt a lot more like Killer Croc than Wonder Woman, Fangirls. My weight has never bothered me much, my only concern has always just been eating healthy. I’ll be honest, the coffee snob in me will most likely be disappointed at most of the latest coffee trends. However, I’m extremely happy that every one seems to be boarding the cold brew train. Cold brew is a delicious alternative to watery, tasteless ice coffee. It seems fancy, and something only your local barista could conjure up, but you can very easily brew this stuff right at home.
Wingapo, Fangirls! As things started to get extra chilly this week, Emily & I knew that some soup had to be in order. After accessing the pantries, we found a recipe for a tasty three sisters soup. The three sisters (corn, beans, and squash), are used in all sorts of dishes in Native American culture, as they were the three main crops. It was so easy to make and super delicious, a meal fit for Chief Powhatan’s homecoming.
Well, Fangirls, Fall is upon us and Emily & I found a perfect opportunity to make a giant pot of soup when we started feeling the change in temperature the other night. Minestrone takes quite a few ingredients, but it’s well worth spending a few extra bucks on produce. This recipe is fantastic, makes a bunch and lasted us a few days!
