Last September, my incredible friend Nicole recommended I listen to the Adventure Zone podcast. I knew nothing of Dungeons and Dragons, nor did I really want to. But two episodes in, and I was swept away.
Fangirls, it’s that time where we get to talk about the cutest comic I read; Lumberjanes! Last time, when we left off, Seafarin’ Karen’s boat was destroyed, with the selkies, Karen, and half of Roanoke Cabjn stranded in the water. Luckily, Lumberjanes are there for each other.
With a terrible storm coming through, and our favorite cabin full of Lumberjanes scattered, what is happening in this issue? Fangirls, it’s getting wild in the Lumberjane universe, and there’s so much happening I can’t handle it.
After finding out that Seafarin’ Karen is a werewolf, I thought things couldn’t get much more wild. But I was 100% wrong.
Fangirls! I was supposed to wait for vacation to come for reading this, but I couldn’t! I love Bee and Puppycat so much, that I got too pumped looking at this trade paperback in my vacation pile that I just had to read it.
Fangirls, I’m really glad that this comic never calms down.
At SPX a couple months back, I picked up this glorious anthology per my friend Charles’ recommendation. I was a bit on the fence at first, since I don’t really consider myself to be a gamer; I think I’m too casual to call myself that. This anthology told me that it’s alright to be casual; if you like playing games, you’re a gamer. I think that’s a very important message to spread, especially when there is so much “fake gamer girl” nonsense online now. But this anthology is here to remind you that you’re not alone, and you’re definitely worth the time.
