Fangirls, last week, I over heard a few conversations that rubbed me the wrong way. They were all regarding the same thing. A few women were talking about their children, and things that their kid wanted. The women thought things didn’t align with their gender, and forcefully told them that’s not for girls/boys. Fangirls, I hate this concept. And it is ever present in the world, and in our community.
Greetings, Fangirls! Though I’ve touched on censorship before, I didn’t go as in depth as my brain goes with the subject. I really wanted to go more into detail about how censorship affects young people, and how that needs to change. I’m pretty passionate about informing the people about sex & sexual health, and though the extent or content may change, it shouldn’t stop at any age group.
Honestly, Fangirls, I hope all of the workers in comic shops that you go to are as lovely as the folks that we see in ours. They know us like the back of their hands. I bring this up because one of the gents who always knows what to recommend is the one who repeatedly suggested that I read Bandette, and I’m very glad that he did.
Fangirls! Emily & I have found a truly addicting game. Directly upon opening the iPhone App store, I saw an ad for a game called Clumsy Ninja, and my interest was peaked. I did not expect it to be so damn fun. This game is endless entertainment.
Holy cow. Okay, so we went to ConnectiCon this past weekend (we being Kyle, Natalie, and I). When we went down, we had this big plan to go to a whole bunch of panels to cover them, but Natalie and I realized that going to panels is exhausting. We did go to a couple, and […]
So, Fangirls and Fanboys, this weekend, Natalie, Kyle, and I all went to ConnectiCon. We’re still here, of course, but on Friday we met this absolutely fantastic group. I want to talk about one of their members right now.
A fan of Part 1 of my Teen Titans Go! article gave me some killer advice, to remain objective in what’s clearly an opinion piece. It was also stated that I should consider the intended audience even though I had stated “The new creators have also wiped out any back story to the characters or made them silly enough for the new, younger demographic to enjoy them.” I assumed that was enough to signify that it was a show intended for children, but lucky I have such hardcore fans to point out my mistakes so eloquently.
