I’m a week late to seeing this movie, but I feel like I’ll make up for it by seeing it a thousand more times. It’s the super hero movie I’ve been waiting for. Yes, I am normally and always will be a Marvel girl. Yes, I wish and hope and pray that Marvel figures it out and gives more than just Captain Marvel her own movie (don’t get me wrong I am super excited for some Carol Danvers). And yes, I was worried about Wonder Woman given DC’s track record. But I needn’t have been, because she is the hero we deserve and the hero we need.
Fangirls, I know I apologized yesterday for being off the grid, but I think it’s good to detox from everything now and then. I’m working on getting back on the horse with exercise, writing, and everything.
This issue of Black Canary takes place much earlier in their career, and is a welcome break from all of the crazy going on in the series. It takes place at an unpublicized birthday party gig, for one very special little girl.
Fangirls I’ve been behind on Just about everything recently, but I’m working to turn that around. It’s definitely tough to get back on track, but I’m getting there. Issue 47 of Batgirl is a bit of a doozy, so let’s hop right to it.
Fangirls, I’ve been putting this issue off. I’ve been worried about Harley going anywhere near the Joker, and I knew that would be a big part of this issue (he was in the last issue and he’s on the cover of this one). I didn’t even feel up to the challenge today, but I finally got off my bum and read it. And it was far more satisfying than I expected.
Oh my goodness, Fangirls. Not only am I ridiculously behind on Black Canary comics, but this one has so much happening in it that I needed to stop reading, multiple times. It starts with some great incorporated “previously on…” While the police are interrogating Byron, Paloma, and their road manager. It seems that Dinah has disappeared, the police thing Ditto and Mr Lance are dead, and that what happened at Gotham Stadium was more than what is being released to them (on that account, they’re right).
Alright Fangirls. We’re back on the horse with Harley, and she’s on the mayor’s Back. This issue starts strong with HQ demanding to talk to the mayor. She thinks that he ordered the hit on Mason while he was in prison. After trying to save him, if you remember, she decided it would be best if he went to Arkham instead. But maybe that’s not the best idea.
