Last week, my boyfriend bought me Donut County, a game for both Playstation and mobile devices. He bought it because (in his words), it was made for me. Let me tell you, Fangirls, he wasn’t wrong.
I know that Teen Titans GO! is a pretty divisive subject, but I’m someone who loves it. I have no beef with the cartoon from when I was younger, but this dumb, fun show is directly up my alley. So when they came to the big screen this summer, you can bet your butt I got tickets!
Fangirls, let me tell you something; I love sketch comedy. I didn’t realize I harbored such an intense love of it until the past year or so, but since then, I’ve been following a group called Aunty Donna. Aunty Donna is an Australian sketch comedy trio who I can’t get enough of, and this past weekend, I got to see them live.
I’m a week late to seeing this movie, but I feel like I’ll make up for it by seeing it a thousand more times. It’s the super hero movie I’ve been waiting for. Yes, I am normally and always will be a Marvel girl. Yes, I wish and hope and pray that Marvel figures it out and gives more than just Captain Marvel her own movie (don’t get me wrong I am super excited for some Carol Danvers). And yes, I was worried about Wonder Woman given DC’s track record. But I needn’t have been, because she is the hero we deserve and the hero we need.
This issue of Black Canary takes place much earlier in their career, and is a welcome break from all of the crazy going on in the series. It takes place at an unpublicized birthday party gig, for one very special little girl.
Fangirls I’ve been behind on Just about everything recently, but I’m working to turn that around. It’s definitely tough to get back on track, but I’m getting there. Issue 47 of Batgirl is a bit of a doozy, so let’s hop right to it.
Fangirls, I’ve been putting this issue off. I’ve been worried about Harley going anywhere near the Joker, and I knew that would be a big part of this issue (he was in the last issue and he’s on the cover of this one). I didn’t even feel up to the challenge today, but I finally got off my bum and read it. And it was far more satisfying than I expected.
