Sometimes you have a bunch of scraps that can happily come together to create real DIY goodness. I had a bunch of left over scrap wood, but nothing big enough to really make anything. I also had a bunch of sheets of cork board laying that I had used for another project ages ago. One good brainstorm later, the two came easily together to make a pretty nifty and helpful thing.
I’ll be honest, the coffee snob in me will most likely be disappointed at most of the latest coffee trends. However, I’m extremely happy that every one seems to be boarding the cold brew train. Cold brew is a delicious alternative to watery, tasteless ice coffee. It seems fancy, and something only your local barista could conjure up, but you can very easily brew this stuff right at home.
A lot of people have a lot of varying opinions regarding Buzzfeed. However, I think for the most part, people are as into it as I am. I think they are the perfect media & entertainment source for young people today, and are just making killer content. Among that content, are some damn amazing videos that I can’t seem to take my eyes off of.
One of my favorite things to do, and ways to save money, is to shop for styles I love online or in the mall, then search for similar looks at the thrift store. You might not find exactly what you’re looking for, but you can certainly find something close, and alter it to be a custom piece of your dreams. This weekend, $10 and 20 minutes turned into two new killer crop tops.
Hey Ladies!!! I wanted to share the cheap and easy secret to making your own comic wall without marking up your wall (or your comics) with tacks and tape! (I know mine is a bit uneven but I’m still working :)).
Fangirls, I love Quirk Books. It’s a publishing company that seems like it can do no wrong, and I can’t get enough of it. I first heard of Quirk when I found out about The Fangirl’s Guide to the Galaxy, by Sam Maggs, that will be released early next month. Of course it peaked my interest, it’s about Fangirls. Then I realized that Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was also from Quirk. After that, I listened to Eric Smith’s The Geek’s Guide to Dating, and read the sequel to Miss Peregrine (Hollow City), and it has continued to escalate. Believe me when I say that the pure joy that comes with reading a Quirk book has continued through my reading of Nick and Tesla’s Special Effects Spectacular.
