Fangirls, as I’ve been working to lose weight, I’ve noticed that my interest in drinking has taken a steady delicate. I allow myself a limited number of calories daily, and therefore find it incredibly difficult to justify drinking my calories away.
I am working rather hard to get healthier, and feel better about myself, so I don’t see the need to put all of my hard work to waste by drinking often; I do still have a drink on occasion, but I don’t drink weekly, or even bi-weekly. Also, it had become a struggle to stay creative with NGD articles, as I just wasn’t feeling it a lot of the time. So my solution is to both problems; toss Nerds Gotta Drink.
Now, this won’t be gone forever, and it’s not guaranteed that it will be gone. Since I’m working on keeping the site more casual and comfortable, I’m not going to pressure myself to write about drinks biweekly, only when I make something that’s delicious and worth sharing. Otherwise I feel it’s a waste of both my and your time, and we both deserve better. So I will be writing more often about the tasty meals I make for myself and my family. I think this will be great because I get to work on my love of food photography and my love of trying new foods. Plus you get to see how great healthy food can be! It’s a win-win.
I appreciate your understanding and support of the changes I’m making, and I am very excited to be sharing new, healthier recipes with you from here on out.
So, Fangirls, for the past few weeks my kitchen has been being remodeled. It started with my faucet breaking, but then all of a sudden we were getting new cabinets, counter top, and the whole nine yards. With the kitchen officially dubbed as “closed” by my mother, being able making food at home is on hold. So, I figured now is the best time to show you some of my favorite restaurants that the Capital District has to offer!Read More »
Welcome to my first Nerds Gotta Drink contribution, Fangirls! I’m very happy to be here. And I’m very happy to showing you one of my cocktails in the name of one of my favorite characters. In more ways than just the name, this drink seemed very fitting for Lockjaw; It’s peppy, packs a punch, and belongs right at your side. It’s a Fangirl’s best friend. Read More »
Fangirls, two weeks ago I told you that I was super excited to go drink around the world in EPCoT’s World Showcase. Well, now I’ve done it, and though I don’t remember the names of all the drinks, I do have the pictures to prove it!
I’m sure we’ve all noticed this. It isn’t new to me, but recently it just seems to be everywhere. Gender roles are so fucked, it’s even all mixed into what we eat and drink. Women eat this, men eat that, if you switch them up, it’s just weird. This is one of the most aggravating things to me. Sure, there’s more serious problems regarding gender that I could be concerned about, but this daily fight is something I just can’t ignore.
