Fangirls, I now live with a dude who is all about that Halloween life, and that means that Halloween starts at the end of this week. We’ll be doing Halloween all month long here, and I can not wait! One of the things this dude has done for quite some time, is watch a different Halloween / Spooky movie every day of October. It’s a great way to keep the fear alive and get ready for Halloween itself! So we’ve got some spooky updates that’ll be coming at’cha, and we’re very excited. We’re going to try to post little miniature reviews of what we watch, and once the list is finalized, we’ll both post it so you can follow along. We won’t be getting too spooky, because I am the world’s largest chicken, but there are some that I’m really excited for!
Sam Maggs has done it again, Fangirls and Fanboys. She absolutely killed with Fangirl’s Guide to the Galaxy, and Wonder Women hits an even deeper tone.
Fangirls, we lost a great one. I was having trouble falling asleep last night when I decided to open my computer up and stream some Netflix to lull me to sleep. Instead what I came across was an article announcing the passing of David Bowie, a music icon, fashion powerhouse and everyone’s favorite Goblin King. I stared at the screen convinced it was a hoax and quickly googled for confirmation. Sadly, it was true and this legend has left us at the age of sixty-nine after an eighteen month battle with cancer surrounded by his family.
With the release of the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens there’s been a lot of excitement (understatement) about continuing the Star Wars franchise. Picking up where the original three movies left off, the new Star Wars introduced a whole new cast of characters to fall in love with and new story lines to unfold in front of our eyes. There’s a whole generation about to fall in love with Star Wars all over again, and as a lifelong Star Wars nut, it’s really exciting. However there are some out there, I’m sure you’ve seen them, who aren’t so excited for the new Star Wars movies. They’re on your social media pages talking about how they don’t care about Star Wars or have never seen the movies or find it weird that people can be so excited about it. Well this article is dedicated to those people. Sit on down children, I’m about to tell you why Star Wars is so important.
I like to consider myself a very practical nerd. When it comes to buying and giving gifts I like to go with things you’ll really use. So consider this a practical nerds holiday gift guide.
One of my biggest gaming regrets is I never really made it to many arcades. I’m not sure if it’s because there weren’t many in the area or if my parent’s kept me away from them when I was a kid. As a result, I tend to have strong memories of the ones I actually played. Of them, there is one song that is burned into my mind…
Oh, Fangirls. I have missed you so dearly. Over the last few months, I have been far, far away from Fangirls Are We, studying beverage in the wild land of college. Needless to say, spending my days in lectures on wine & spirits, writing essays about bitters, and touring breweries have deeply impacted the things my Fangirl Heart is craving this holiday season. Fellow cocktail nerds, rejoice!Read More »
