I’ve been following Kevin Panetta and Paulina Ganucheau around the Internet for a couple years now, so when I learn that Panetta (along with Ganucheau’s sister) was working on a graphic novel, the hype was real. Bloom finally came out, and I’m so glad to have read it!
I received an arc of Geekerella before its release, and was lucky enough to receive one of The Princess and the Fangirl as well! Before this I had read Geekerella and Heart of Iron from Poston, so I knew I loved her style. I also knew that Geekerella is one of two Cinderella adaptations I enjoy (the other is the movie with Brandi).
I had heard a bunch of positivity surrounding What if it’s Us, so I just had to check it out.
Alright, I know I’m late, but I made it! I finally read Simon, aka the book that inspired Love, Simon, aka a huge deal. I read a bit about this when the movie was released, and saw that prominent figures (especially in the LGBTQ+ community) were buying out whole theatres so people could watch it. So I finally got my life together enough to read the book, and wow.
I did not read anything about this book before I bought it. I assumed it was just a story about strong women in someone’s life, and how they influenced the writer and/or main character. But this is a series of essays or short stories about struggles that are very real (and some that aren’t quite real) for women all over the world.
Fangirls I finally read a book that I’ve been thinking about a lot lately; Kim & Kim. It’s a neat comic from Black Mask. It’s about 2 Kims who bounty hunt. The trouble is, there’s a bit of a bounty on their heads as well, as the boss of the largest crime is the one who put out the bounty.
Oh, Fangirls. I have missed you so dearly. Over the last few months, I have been far, far away from Fangirls Are We, studying beverage in the wild land of college. Needless to say, spending my days in lectures on wine & spirits, writing essays about bitters, and touring breweries have deeply impacted the things my Fangirl Heart is craving this holiday season. Fellow cocktail nerds, rejoice!Read More »
