Fangirls, as I was perusing Target the other day, a book caught my eye. Now, I know that I said I’ve been having issues finishing books lately; due to time or interest, or whatever, but as soon as I saw this book, I knew it had to come home with me. I was so excited to see that the DC Super Hero Girls had come out with a book, that I lost my mind. When I got home that night, I started reading it, and got about halfway through, before realizing that it was 11pm and I had to get up for work in a couple hours.
Or should I say started? In any case I am enjoying it so far.Read More »
Oh, Fangirls, I’ve been waiting long while to read this book since it came out a few months ago. Unfortunately, I have to budget my trade and graphic novels purchases. But finally, the Black Canary / Zatanna team up book is in my possession. Somehow, it’s even better than I expected, dudes. It’s hilarious, intense, and full of these two kicking serious butt. They’re one hell of a team, Fangirls.
Fangirls, I don’t like this book. I’ve read it twice, and it’s difficult to do. So I’m not going to give you a synopsis, I’m going to whine for a couple paragraphs, and tell you not to read this.
Something I’ve noticed that goes right along with the notoriously skimpy costumes that comic book women wear, is the eagerness to have sex with them.

Fangirls! For our comic chat this week, I thought I would dig into my collection of random single issues for a gem. I found this Rise & Fall issue about Green Arrow, that I had yet to read. The cover says that the comic is a single story, a “one shot” as they label it. But that in fact wasn’t true. But, I still think it’s well worth talking about. It shows the side of one of my favorite vigilantes that I wrestle my feelings about,; His very angry, violent side. Some times Green Arrow just wants justice so hard.
Fangirls! I thought that this week instead of writing about a more recent comic that we’ve been reading, we could open up our Green Arrow/Black Canary story book for something to talk about. Surely, none of the stories have given me an as intense & sentimental feelings as last time, but this one is a lot of fun. With a classic tale the Joker, how could it not be?
