As I’m sure many of you are aware, Lush released a TON of products last week; it was their biggest launch ever! There is an incredible selection of new items, and they definitely have reason to celebrate, because it’s the 30th anniversary of Lush inventing the bath bomb! One of the products that came out with this launch is the Kappa, and I wanted it to be my first one that I shared with you, because Kappas have some really neat mythology to them.
I have fallen in love with podcasts recently, Fangirls. They make the work day go by faster, they can be educational, and a lot of them have some pretty strong comedy elements. Recently, while perusing Spotify’s Podcast section, I came upon Unladylike. I just had to give it a listen!
I do have to warn you, this article (and the podcast, of course) feature some triggering information. Proceed with caution.
Fangirls! Remember that phenomenal, women-centric book that Sam Maggs has written that we talked about last week, Wonder Women?! Well it’s such a rad book that the brought the release date up two weeks! Wonder Women will now be released on October 4th, that’s one week from today! And if you weren’t excited enough for it, hold on to your hats.
The absolutely incredible Paulina Ganucheau (Zodiac Starforce & Another Castle) and Jen Bartel (Jem & Girl Gang) have been commissioned by the Quirk books crew to create some stunning wallpapers for giveaway with the book! Everyone that pre-orders Wonder Women will be entered to win a framed print, signed by the artist and Sam Maggs!
If you haven’t preordered Wonder Women yet, I urge you to. It’s an amazing book; well written, incredibly researched, and perfectly put. It’s endorsed by Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls, and is exactly what every woman and girl (and the dudes too) on your holiday shopping list needs.
Preorder this book, Fangirls, because it’s so dang good, and you are going to love every minute you spend reading and rereading it!

Fangirls, are you sick of me talking about fitness? I’m fairly certain that everyone on my twitter feed is. Today was the second day I used the Couch to 5K app, and I’m feeling so good about it, that I’m already raving to all of my coworkers about it, so I figured I give you ladies (and gents) my thoughts as well!
As is the way of the book nerd, I am always looking for something new to read. Obviously, I’m in the middle of A Song of Ice and Fire series (working on book 3 at the moment), but sometimes I need something to break up the big huge series, especially one as large as ASOIAF. So what I like to do is go through a book store, see what sparks my interest, and then write down the title so I can get the sample on my kindle to see if it holds my interest. One recent find did just that.
Since I was a child, I’ve been trying to pull out as much information about my family as I could from my parents. I’ve always felt a sense of importance about it. When I got to that age when you realize your parents do not know the answer to every question, things slowed down. Until a few months ago, I wasn’t taking in much in the way of new information. Now, it’s coming in waves. Huge, overwhelming, fucking fantastic waves. Read More »
I’m not sure how I, a lover of sex knowledge and comics, only just now found out about these things. However, I’m real glad I’ve now entered this realm. Tijuana bibles, also known as dirty comics or fuck books, were little booklets of raunchy comics, often featuring well known characters or people, that were secretly distributed from the 1930’s to the 1950’s. It’s a whole secret world of comic based pornography that people don’t know about, but that nearly everyone was involved in.
