Fangirls, I made falafel last week, and I’m incredibly proud of myself for doing so. It’s not that it was super labor intensive, or wildly difficult, but it was something that I wanted to make, and I got my s together and made it! It’s a very fulfilling feeling. I don’t know if this falafel will make you feel as strongly as it made me feel, but it’s worth a shot, right?
We did the thing, Fangirls! The boy and I had a wonderfully lazy weekend since it was a long one, then spent a good part of Monday (that lovely extra day off) figuring out which meals to make, grocery shopping, then actually making them!
So, the other day I had a bit of an issue. My phone turned off and refused to turn back on. I had the unfortunate luck of having to give it a hard reset. That means everything is gone; my contacts, my notes, my websites, and most importantly, my pictures. Therefore, this piece will be a bit low on images; I made the jam the week before last, and lost all of my pictures a couple days after making it.
Fangirls, we have to talk. It’s time for Fangirls Are We to go through some changes. Though a lot of our stuff is going to stay the same, some things are going to disappear (three comic reviews a week seems a little too much, especially since I have issues keeping up on them), and they’re going to be replaced by lifestyle pieces. There will still be pieces on food and drinks, comics, books, and beauty, but there will also be more DIY and journal-like pieces, along with a more relaxed schedule.
My goal is for this site to bring people together, to give myself and other Fangirls worldwide a sense of community, in loving fandom and life. It’s important that I enjoy writing, and I’ve been having trouble enjoying some things for awhile now. I want the site to be good for everyone, and have different facets, but I also want it to grow and change with me, and I move up and on in life.
I appreciate your ever constant support, Fangirls and Fanboys, as FAW has gone through several large changes throughout our years. I strive to keep the site a safe and positive space for nerdy things and everything else. Thank you so much.
Sure, the Crystal Gems will always save the day, but they’d be super bored if it weren’t for the Homeworld Gems making things more difficult, right? I chose my three favorite Homeworld Gems; Jasper, Peridot, and Yellow Diamond and decided there would be nothing better than cupcakes devoted to them. I know Peridot is technically a Crystal Gem now, but whatever. She’s always going to be a troublemaker in my mind, so it’s all good.
“It’s Just a wee sheep stomach!” Nope, not anymore. Hey Fangirls, this week we’ve got something that I’ve been excited to try since I first saw Brave; a vegetarian dish inspired by Haggis. Haggis is typically a dish made in sheep stomach, but for gals like me, that’s even more unappealing than to your average human. Being vegetarian means finding protein in places other than meat, but I know very few people who don’t experiment with food to find new ways to get their main courses other than frozen fake meat burgers. So I found a recipe online for Vegetarian Haggis, and went for it!
I’m going back to school, Fangirls. I graduated high school with no desire to go to college, but still attempted to because that’s what I was “supposed to do”. I quickly left without even finishing one semester, and have spent the last three years working. Now, after finding a direction in my life, I’ve decided to give it the ol’ college try. Hah. But of course, I need some help getting back into the groove of class, exams, and homework. That’s where the Studious app comes in. Read More »
