I wear a lot of nerd stuff, all the time. But because I’m someone with a 9-5 office job, I can’t always wear whatever I want; I have to dress it up a bit. So, two weeks ago I decided to wear something nerdy to work every day, and see if it made anything weird. Guess what Fangirls? It didn’t. We live in an age where nerdy clothing is accessible and common enough that we can wear it to the workplace! Here are some of the ways I dressed up my nerd wear.
Friends and Fangirls, I wanted to take a moment to talk about a podcast I’ve been listening to while working. It’s called Binge Mode, and this summer they’re binging the Harry Potter series. If that doesn’t immediately pique your interest, hit that read more tab, and we’ll get a bit deeper into it.
I love candles, Fangirls. I really do. So much so, that we have a cupboard that has candles that have not yet been used yet in it. I love candles so much because they make thins smell nice; I’m not a fan of the house smelling like turkey bacon because it makes me feel sick, but apply pie is a scent I don’t mind masking the bacon with. That being said, I’m a big fan of FromThePage. It’s an etsy store devoted to making cute, nerd themed candles. So when they released a limited run of a Weasley Box, I had to grab it! In the box were 4 mini candles (Skiving Snackboxes, Ton Tongue Toffee, Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder, and Wildfire Wiz-Bangs), and two surprise Weasley themed gifts! Lets get right into it.
I went into this movie with very specific expectations. I wanted a movie about magical animals, and Newt Scamander finding them in New York City. That isn’t quite what I got, but I still really enjoyed myself.
Alright friends, family, and Fangirls.I absolutely adore these muffins, and it’s definitely not just because they’re from a Harry Potter cookbook. Not only are they beyond tasty, the recipe makes a ton (Who needs 2 dozen blueberry muffins? Me.) and it’s a simple recipe to follow. So lets get to it!
It happened, Fangirls. They released another book in the Harry Potter series. Like horcruxes, they promised 7, and there ended up being 8. It’s pure magic.
If you’re like me, Fangirls, you grew up in Hogwarts with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. You attended magical classes, you fought the Dark Lord, and you loved every moment of it (ok, almost every moment…seriously J.K. were the giant spiders necessary?). And when it was all over, you cried as your characters went on with their lives but you wouldn’t see it. You wouldn’t be joining this magical world again to see new creatures and learn new spells. Until now, that is. The first trailer for the new series in the magical world, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, was released this past weekend. And again, if you’re like me, you watched with wide eyes and fond memories.
