I spent a good chunk of my high school years watching the original FullMetal Alchemist anime and loving it. I still get nostalgic for it even now. When I first heard about the live action version and saw that first trailer, I needed to see it. I hoped and prayed for it to come to American theaters. It didn’t, but thankfully Netflix got it. I just watched it, and let me tell you how much I loved it.
With the new comic, and the movie announcement, everything has been coming up Jem, Fangirls. And I’ve been loving it; until now. I didn’t know what to expect from the new movie, but surely, it was not this.
So Fangirls, I was perusing the cheap DVDs at Target the other day when I struck gold; I found a combo pack that included the four TMNT movies in one, for under $10. And when I finally sat down to watch them, I had the time of my life.
Of course, I watched the first one first. In it, we meet a gang of four 15 year old turtles, who have been trained in the art of ninjutsu. By a giant rat. It’s a bit of a ridiculous concept, but really such a great movie. In the 1990 live action film, the turtles (named after four renaissance masters; Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael) fight the Shredder.
