I am just feeling these Hulu original pieces recently! New Year, New You is a part of a series of movies from Blumhouse that are all holiday based. This one is (obviously) about the new year!
Ever since seeing this book on instagram (and learning a bit more about it), I’ve been a bit obsessed. I knew there was a movie coming out, and I was very excited, but reading the book made that excitement jump up ten-fold. I needed to see this movie. So, last weekend, I went to see it.
I watched this movie exclusively because Barb from Stranger Things was in it. But when I started watching it, I fell in love.
Awhile back, I read Crazy Rich Asians in anticipation of the movie coming out. I wanted to know if it was something that I may be interested in. I definitely was, as you can tell if you read my review. Two of my bookish friends were also working on reading it (one already had, the other had heard only positives), so we decided to go see it together. It was neat to experience the movie after the book (which is always a nail biting situation). We finally saw it this past weekend!
I was hearing tons of hype about this book for awhile before I started it, and I’m so grateful for that. I think everyone needs to read this; it belongs with The Pearl and Animal Farm as required reading. People need to read this book.
This past weekend we had two Asian focused films come out. Crazy Rich Asians (which I have yet to see), and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. Luckily, the latter was a Netflix movie, so I watched it Saturday morning.
I know that Teen Titans GO! is a pretty divisive subject, but I’m someone who loves it. I have no beef with the cartoon from when I was younger, but this dumb, fun show is directly up my alley. So when they came to the big screen this summer, you can bet your butt I got tickets!
