I’m going back to school, Fangirls. I graduated high school with no desire to go to college, but still attempted to because that’s what I was “supposed to do”. I quickly left without even finishing one semester, and have spent the last three years working. Now, after finding a direction in my life, I’ve decided to give it the ol’ college try. Hah. But of course, I need some help getting back into the groove of class, exams, and homework. That’s where the Studious app comes in. Read More »
Fangirls, let me tell you all about a little show that has come to mean a lot to me. You won’t find it on any prime time slot, on any fancy network, or any television for that matter. This Just Out with Liz Feldman is a web show that came to be a huge source of knowledge & entertainment for little 14-year-old me. Now, it’s back at it to entertain the 21-year-old me. I’m welcoming This Just Out back with wide open arms.
So in my recent room renovation, I found a lot of stuff that had some potential. Now, I didn’t find this shelving unit, but I did clear it of all the childhood books it used to hold. I was just going to throw it away, but when I found some random old wood in my room, some wheels starting turning. I decided to attempt to update the shelf and make it into something more suited for me & my new room. The results were honestly much better than I had anticipated. Read More »
Nope, this isn’t a playlist of classical music. Though, that genre should also be appreciated. This is a collection tracing back to where my Fangirl roots really began; With classic rock. I spent elementary & middle school in the grips of an obsession with rock music of the 60s & 70s. So many of these bands have played a giant part in contemporary music, which is why I thought it was important to compile a group of what I think are some of the most essential rock songs of the day. Let your hair down, Fangirls. Read More »
Fangirls! It feels like an eternity since I’ve talked about She-Hulk, it always does. To be honest, though, I wasn’t missing it that much. The last few issues of this series felt a little lack luster to me, covered in odd illustration, and frustrating plots. Now, they seem to have officially abandon the story that was happening before, and have started a new arc featuring the one and only Captain America.
Hawkman is a character that I like a lot and want to enjoy, but it’s hard to come across any of his stories. Hawkman sadly was not part of the new 52, and it’s been a good deal of time since anything had been release with him. Which is why I have to go real old school to try to experience more of him. Thankfully, I was in luck when I recently found a book collecting a few of his comics from the 1960s.
Scrolling around Netflix can do the heart some good, Fangirls. I love choosing random movies or shoes to watch, things I’ve never heard of. I went to do this one day this past weekend, and accidentally ended up at a movie I had wanted to see, I just didn’t know what it was. I had heard about Beginners, though I hadn’t remembered the name, and after initially choosing the movie, was delighted that “Oh! This is that movie!” However, this was more than “that movie”, Fangirls. This was an incredibly directed and creative film that had me feeling all sorts of feelings.
