I wear a lot of nerd stuff, all the time. But because I’m someone with a 9-5 office job, I can’t always wear whatever I want; I have to dress it up a bit. So, two weeks ago I decided to wear something nerdy to work every day, and see if it made anything weird. Guess what Fangirls? It didn’t. We live in an age where nerdy clothing is accessible and common enough that we can wear it to the workplace! Here are some of the ways I dressed up my nerd wear.
Alright friends and Fangirls, I finally got through it. I beat the elite four in Pokemon Sun this weekend, and I loved every second of gameplay. I hope you’re a pokefan, because I’m about to lose my mind on this game.
I know that journals usually happen on Fridays, but this past Friday was my birthday. I struggle pretty hard with birthdays; I tend to not feel like I’ve accomplished as much as others my age, and that gives me a lot of anxiety. I have had birthdays where I couldn’t leave my room because I was so overwhelmed. It seems like my worst birthdays are milestone birthdays, and luckily 24 isn’t that much of a milestone (unlike 16, where you’re *supposed to* get your permit, or 18 where you’re legal, or even 21 when you can purchase and consume alcohol). I did pretty okay for most of Friday, and I think it’s because I’m very lucky to have kind and understanding people in my life.
Things have been beyond wild these past couple of weeks. We did Disneyland two weeks ago, last weekend we drove up to NY to get some of my furniture and stuff, and last night we got furniture in from Rob’s parents’ place. It’s a lot of good in a relatively short amount of time, which is both exciting and stressful.
Yes, Fangirls, I have been playing Pokemon GO like it’s my job since it came out and yes I love it more than anything else in life.
Fangirls, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, my newfound love of Pokémon knows no bounds. It’s a bizarre and beautiful game, and I love it a stupid amount. I’ve been playing Pokémon for less than a year, but a couple months ago I decided to embark on a new level of Pokétrash; I was going to literally catch ’em all. I want, more than anything, to have a complete living Pokédex. Having a living ‘dex is neat, because it means you can help other people when they’re looking for specific Pokémon, and you can complete your in-game Pokédexes. It’s a ton of work, but I wouldn’t be able to do it without the Pokémon Bank.
Fangirls, with my recent realization of love for Pokémon, I’m surprised it took me this long to make a treat based on one of them. Sure, Poképuffs are on the horizon, but for now, we’re going to stick with sugar cookies. This is my favorite sugar cookie recipe, and I bought a rad Haunter cookie cutter from IEF Designs on Etsy. When I got it I knew what I was going to do; marbled purple sugar cookies.
