I woke up yesterday with the best intentions, Fangirls; I was going to read Last Man book 3 and serve up some sweet review for it. But I fell into some serious tummy trouble, and that went out the window. Almost everything went out the window when I woke up an hour and a half late today. But there is good news! I read Coady and the Creepies issue 1 today and it’s great! So we’re going to talk about that.
It has been nearly a year since I shared one of my current favorites playlists, Fangirls. It’s about time that changed. This summer has brought me buckets of fantastic tunes that have been playing nonstop in my car & around the house. So, I’ve reflected upon the last few months of music and what I’ve been enjoying the most, and put together a dozen of the highlights. Read More »
Fangirls, I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Black Canary comic since it was announced a couple months ago. I remember screaming and running around my house as I fervently texted anyone who could care about how pumped I was for this, and the first issue got me even more excited.
It’s hard to believe I’ve waited over a month to talk about this song. I suppose I was waiting for the dust to settle in my brain, because this is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. After listening to it just about every day for the last month, I think I’m ready to express my thoughts on “No Way Out.”
Fangirls, I am into this. Discovering Bleached is perfect timing with spring finally arriving. While welcoming back things like skateboarding, bike rides, and rowdy drives, I now have the perfect band to accompany those activities. I’m not sorry for sharing another kick ass lady punk powerhouse band, Bleached is a perfect example of the booming bouncy noise pop scene.
Welcome to my newest chick-punk obsession, Fangirls. I heard a snippet of one of Honeyblood’s songs in the background of a talk radio show, and spent the day trying to figure out what it was. Eventually, after calling the radio station and telling them the exact moment I heard this beautiful noise, they were able to point my towards Honeyblood. Best phone call I’ve ever made.
This is one of those bands where I discovered them ages ago, listened, loved it, and somehow just stopped listening. Sometimes good stuff gets a bit buried when other good stuff comes along. Regardless, I’ve gotten very much back into this group. A rediscovery, if you will. Their music has been the perfectly unique & fun pick up for some downright sappy winter blues.
