I was incredibly lucky to have this book sent to me from Quirk Books. They’re a publisher that I absolutely adore because they put out some really incredible content. This book is no exception.
On a day like today, we have to get into some gay stuff. Surely, the sex lives of all the gay people who can now marry isn’t really any of our business, but I figured now is a good time to clear up some questions that people seem to ask me all the time. I’m not sure why people feel it’s alright to ask such bold questions about the details of the gay sex life, but hey, awareness is key and I’m hear to shed some light on the inter workings of the queer bedroom. Fangirls, let me tell you all about a little show that has come to mean a lot to me. You won’t find it on any prime time slot, on any fancy network, or any television for that matter. This Just Out with Liz Feldman is a web show that came to be a huge source of knowledge & entertainment for little 14-year-old me. Now, it’s back at it to entertain the 21-year-old me. I’m welcoming This Just Out back with wide open arms.
To be honest, I don’t remember the exact day, but I know it was the spring time, a bit before my 15th birthday. I’ve never really kept track, or celebrated it on an anniversary of sorts. It was 6 years ago now that fully came out as a gay woman. I don’t like to make any big show about being gay, because I think that makes it seem like I’m separate in some way, or attention seeking. However, it’s a part of me, and there’s no doubt that coming out is a process that a lot people don’t experience. It was a marker in my life that honestly seems so long ago now. It’s felt like a lifetime between then and now. But really, I am so young still. It was the beginning of a life, my life, living openly about who I was. And it’s very weird to think about it now.
Fangirls, I love conventions. Up and coming conventions are almost always as exciting as bigger conventions, but they usually need a bit of help. HavenCon is a new convention this April that focuses on Geek and Gaming Culture through LGBTQA experiences and eyes.
Fangirls, I think it’s time that this site talks about one my favorite sites. Though it is aimed toward ladies who like ladies, there is something for every woman to love about this website. They talk about everything under the sun, add in a kick of feminist perspective & concern, and a healthy dose of humor. The website is very real. It’s real women, just writing about every day stuff that going on, varying from politics to television to sex. It’s a feminerd gal’s dream.
