Fangirls, I thought I would hate this. I was wrong.
A very common theme with movies, video games, and stories, is a woman needing a man. It seems that if there is a female lead, her whole storyline. That being said, there are some fantastic exceptions to that trope.
Fangirls! We thought that in honor of fast approaching Mother’s Day, we would celebrate one of Disney’s mothers. Who isn’t really that great of a mother, nor not really a mother at all. But hey, we thought her soup sounded pretty good. And let me tell you; She may be lying, smothering & selfish, but she makes a damn good soup.
So Fangirls, this past December, my niece was born. She’s totally awesome and the cutest fucking thing in the world. But, being just four months old, she can’t walk, talk, or more importantly, know anything about Disney. That’s where Emily & I are here to help. Mother Gothel is the villain in Tangled, Rapunzel’s story. She’s hundreds of years old, and has been keeping herself alive, initially, by a magical flower, but more recently by using Rapunzel’s hair. Rapunzel’s hair possesses the same qualities as the flower because her mother used it in a healing drink when she was pregnant.
