Fangirls, Lucy Knisley seems like a damn rad lady. I was introduced to her work by Natalie, who wrote here for a spell. Natalie showed me French Milk, one of Knisley’s old books, about living (and eating) in France. It’s beautiful and poignant. Plus I have instant respect for creators who write and illustrate their own work. Knisley’s book, Something New, is about her relationship with her friend and on-and-off-boyfriend (now husband). It shows their relationship from the beginning through their honeymoon (which they took 5 months after the wedding). It’s a neat story, and a great way to catalogue memories.
It happened, Fangirls. They released another book in the Harry Potter series. Like horcruxes, they promised 7, and there ended up being 8. It’s pure magic.
One of the great things about free time while the boy is at work is playing his video games. He has a pretty solid collection of Ratchet & Clank games, and at his place was the first time I played one of their games; Into the Nexus. This time, I played Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time. This was another wonderfully crafted story, and I was excited to play through it. Crack in Time follows Ratchet and Clank separately, as Ratchet works to find Clank, and Clank learns about his destiny.
Alright, Fangirls, I’m deep into both bath season and my love of Jasper from Steven Universe. Somewhere in my stupor while in a Lush store, I grabbed this bubble bar exclusively because it’s orange like my favorite big tough cheeto puff. I sure am grateful that I did, because I am in love with this.
Fangirls, I never saw myself as buying period panties that I considered “fancy.” Period undies have always been undies that it isn’t a big deal if they get bled on, because even with pads and tampons, it’s a possibility. But at the end of December I said to myself that since I’m trying to do better for myself this year, I may as well try doing something better for the environment too, and I ordered myself a pair of Thinx.
We all know I love baths; that’s the same as it’s always been. Similarly, I’m pretty sure we all know that I absolutely adore Lush Cosmetics. They do many great things; amazing products, great charity work, fighting animal testing, and many more fantastic things. The other day I got to experience one of my new favorites; a bath bomb called Big Blue.
Though my hands aren’t the first thing you see when you meet me, I always try to make a good impression with them. That has led me to having a passionate love for nail polish. Much like lipstick, nail polish is something I need to not buy anymore, because I have so much of it. I think it’s a small thing that I can control in my daily life, and I need that little bit of control, the way my anxiety is.
