I really can’t believe I haven’t written about JordanDene clothing before; what the heck is wrong with me?!
I read eleven books last month (three of which were audio books), and I’m kind of proud of that. I’m hoping to go a step further and read twelve this month, but first let’s go over what I read!
Alright, I know I was so late reviewing last month’s box that this one feels like it came immediately afterwards, but I’m trying to be more on top of things! I’m really excited about this box, as Things are Not What They Seem is an incredible theme! I am really excited about the contents, so let’s get right into it.
To start, this month’s box had some lovely paper goods, including a bookmark, a smoothie recipe, a playlist, gratitude journal, and an Edgar Allen Poe poem.
Two things before we start with this:
- I know I’m late to this train. Vicious has been quite popular for some time, and I am behind as heck.
- I love Victoria Schwab’s writing. I loved the Magic trilogy and the Duet duology, so I went into this knowing I was going to love it. So let’s review it!
Oh my goodness. I ordered this what feels like ages ago, and have been super excited about it! I got it last week while at work, and I struggled to wait until I got home, but I’m glad I did, because I was so blown away by the contents. Before we get into it, lets get some background; Magic & Mayhem is a one time order from Illumicrate. Illumicrate is a subscription box company based out of the UK. Magic & Mayhem was said to be focused on Victoria Schwab’s works. It also coincided with the release of Vengeful, the sequel to her book Vicious. I literally started Vicious the day I received my box, but I was hopeful that there would also be some Darker Shades of Magic themed items in there as well. Spoiler alert: there were.
Do not click that read more tab unless you’re prepared to see exactly what was in the Magic & Mayhem box. There are spoilers ahead.
