There’s been a lot said about the newest chapter in the Star Wars franchise, both good and not so good. I have seen it twice now, and both times my emotions were high. I loved it, and I have a few spoiler filled thoughts I want to share with you.
I hate to say it, but much like everyone else, at Carrie Fisher’s passing, I bought her book. I waited awhile to read it, so I could work through my feelings on her death and everything surrounding her before reading her words, and I’m glad I did. I was crying pretty openly for a good portion of this book, because it told a lot about Ms Fisher that I didn’t know, and made her feel even more like a friend than she was as Leia.
Fangirls, I love Boba Fett. I know he’s a bit overrated, and he isn’t down doing too much in the movies, but I love him. I think he’s a neat character who the extended universe has give a lot of life to (and even if Disney made EU not matter anymore, they’re doing stuff about him). The Bounty Hunter Code is a book that isn’t about him, but is designed around people’s love of Boba Fett; it has a mythosaur skull on both the front and back covers, and his Bounty Hunter patch on the binding. That is because this book is assumed to have been bound by him, and was found in Slave 1 (his ship). It includes annotation from Boba, Greedo, and some other bounty hunters who have had their hands on this text some way or another.
I live near Albany NY, and we just got a new area in one of our malls called 5Wits. I’d never heard of it before, but when they advertise things called “Drago’s Castle,” “Deep Space,” and “Tomb,” I knew it had to be interesting. And I was not wrong.
For the past couple of weeks, I have been eyeing a magazine at work. Time Magazine’s 100 Healthiest Foods and How to Eat Them has been sitting on our magazine rack, taunting me. I couldn’t justify the $14 price on a magazine, but when I saw the 30 recipes in the back (and the incredibly gorgeous photos throughout) I finally doled out the cash. One of the recipes really called to me; waffles. I had just ordered a Death Star Waffle Iron from ThinkGeek, and felt the only way to celebrate was to make waffles (of course)!
I know that Easter isn’t a huge gift givin holiday, but that doesn’t stop me from going all heart eyes for cute, springy things this time of year. Though I don’t expect any of this stuff in my basket (yes I still get a basket and it says “Princess” on it, so), there are some really cute things that I would love to become a part of my collections.
You know, Fangirls, there’s nothing like interacting with a book that was literally made for you to help you feel indulgent! Just in time for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Put Me in the Story released another phenomenal dedicatable book; Star Wars: The Force Inside. In it, the reader must answer questions from both sides of the force to determine which side they shall follow.
