Last week, my boyfriend bought me Donut County, a game for both Playstation and mobile devices. He bought it because (in his words), it was made for me. Let me tell you, Fangirls, he wasn’t wrong.
I know I’m quite a bit late to the Legend of Zelda party, but we got a Nintendo Switch on Friday and I have barely stopped playing it. We ordered Breath of the Wild ages ago; we knew that getting a switch was not easy, and if we saw it we would have to immediately snatch it up. With that, we didn’t want the hassle of having to find the game then, we wanted to have that ready to go.
This past Sunday I slept for almost the entire day, which made it next to impossible to go to sleep. I decided to try out Journey, because the boyfriend said it was a very pretty and calming game, and I thought that may help me relax enough to be ready for bed. Thankfully, that was a correct thought.
Okay, let me start off by saying that I wrote a review that I was incredibly proud of for this game, and then proceeded to delete it like the damn fool that I am. So this (to me) already feels nowhere near as good because I was so happy with that one. But, I’m also incredibly happy with this game, so let’s talk about that instead.
I would not consider myself a “long-time” Ratchet & Clank fan. I have discovered the games in the relatively recent past, and I adore them. I was super pumped when I heard about the movie, of course, and then even more enthused when we got a PS4 so I could play the game that goes along with the movie. It was a blast to watch the movie, and getting to play through the movie was even more fun.
Alright Fangirls. I feel like I have no business telling you my thoughts on Overwatch because I’m not super great at it, and I’ve only played it a couple of times. I also don’t consider myself to be someone who plays first person shooters (I tend to prefer third person, like Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter). But holy mother of butts, I love Overwatch.
Fangirls, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, I’m a rather recent fan of Ratchet & Clank. I only played my first of their games a couple months back, and I instantly fell in love. It’s very Jak & Daxter, but far more family friendly. Given my love of the games, I was very excited when I saw that there was a movie being released, so when I last saw my boyfriend (the dude who introduced me to Ratchet & Clank), we had to go see it together.
Fangirls, I’ve been slowly but surely making my way through the Ratchet and Clank games, and about 2 weeks ago when my boy visited we played through the last of the old games (the new one comes out next week!). We played most of All 4 One, and loved (almost) every minute of it. We would have played it sooner, but I have multiple PS3 controllers at my house, he does not.
