This is a book I was so excited about that I preordered. While I knew from the cover that it was a book that I needed to read, the synopsis had me hopked. Witches in Salem today? Check. Lesbians? Check. Danger? Checkity check check.
Guys, we are behind. Like, over 10 movies behind. We didn’t get through a ton this past week because I was sick so I was usually asleep by the time Rob got home, plus we had a busy weekend where we drove up to New York to grab some more of my stuff (like my desk and desktop which I’m finally using again). I’m exhausted but less sick this week, so hopefully we can end (mildly) strong, and get closer to the goal.
I was very surprised, Fangirls, when I found that there was only one issue of Coffin Hill to review today. I was expecting at least two, maybe even three. But I found just the one, and upon it’s completion, I realized that this is the final issue of Coffin Hill.
Fangirls, every time I read Coffin Hill, my brain says something along the lines of “ohshitohshitohshit” through the entire comic. It’s intense, scary, and almost overwhelming to read at some points! Now, issue 20 is out already, but I could barely handle the intensity of these two, so I decided against adding the third today, but it’ll be up next time.
Things to do: not read Coffin Hill while on a big trip in a new area.
Fangirls, I am pleased as punch to be in California right now, but holy crud is Coffin Hill a frightening book. Obviously a lot has been going on; Emma is possessing people and exacting her revenge, but it just doesn’t seem to stop! Luckily, Eve Coffin is on her case, and is working out a way to take her down.
Fangirls, as much as I loved the last story arc from Coffin Hill, I thought I was very ready for something new. After reading this issue, I realized I’m not. So much is going to go down in this arc, and I thought the last one was intense.
Fangirls, please tell me you’ve been reading Coffin Hill. It’s so amazing, and is always one of my first reads when I pick up my comics. They’re always so beautiful and gorey, and this issue, the start of the next storyline, is no different.
