This issue of Black Canary takes place much earlier in their career, and is a welcome break from all of the crazy going on in the series. It takes place at an unpublicized birthday party gig, for one very special little girl.
Fangirls, I’ve been putting this issue off. I’ve been worried about Harley going anywhere near the Joker, and I knew that would be a big part of this issue (he was in the last issue and he’s on the cover of this one). I didn’t even feel up to the challenge today, but I finally got off my bum and read it. And it was far more satisfying than I expected.
Alright Fangirls. We’re back on the horse with Harley, and she’s on the mayor’s Back. This issue starts strong with HQ demanding to talk to the mayor. She thinks that he ordered the hit on Mason while he was in prison. After trying to save him, if you remember, she decided it would be best if he went to Arkham instead. But maybe that’s not the best idea.
Fangirls, as I was perusing Target the other day, a book caught my eye. Now, I know that I said I’ve been having issues finishing books lately; due to time or interest, or whatever, but as soon as I saw this book, I knew it had to come home with me. I was so excited to see that the DC Super Hero Girls had come out with a book, that I lost my mind. When I got home that night, I started reading it, and got about halfway through, before realizing that it was 11pm and I had to get up for work in a couple hours.
Fangirls, I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve read Batgirl. I tend to like to write a lot of my stuff beforehand, so I have time to get ahead instead of stressing about writing in the mornings, so a couple months back I wrote a whole bunch of Batgirl stuff, and haven’t touched it since. Until today, where I welcomed the comforting style and colors of Batgirl back onto my eyes. Its a dang phenomenal series, and there’s really not much out there like it.
Oh goodness, it’s been some time since we’ve talked Catwoman, hasn’t it Fangirls? Almost two months because I was in too much of a vacation mode last month and totally blanked on doing my work. But here we are, again, and Catwoman is looking like she’s in deep trouble.
Fangirls, the Clown Queen of Crime is absolutely killing it (pun intended). She’s got the mayor in a bit of a vice, working it with the Harley Gang, and about to go bust Mason out of prison. But she gets a call from a not-so-deceased enemy, and has to change her plans.
